Interpol is the fourth studio album by the American rock band Interpol, released on September 7, 2010 through Matador Records. The self-produced album was recorded at Electric Lady Studios in Greenwich Village. Bassist Carlos Dengler left shortly after the album's completion.

Marauder is the sixth studio album by American rock band Interpol. It was released on August 24, 2018, by Matador Records. The album was produced by Dave Fridmann and recorded at his studio, Tarbox Road, in Cassadaga, New York from December 6, 2017 through April 18, 2018. Three singles were released from the album: "The Rover" on June 7, "Number 10" on July 30, and "If You Really Love Nothing" on August 23.

Interpol is often compared to the late, great Joy Division, and at a glance, it's not hard to see why. But with deeper analysis, the likening is ridiculous- Interpol has more in common with the hazy-sweet drones of Clinic or the propulsive rhythms and jangling guitars of Mission of Burma than any of Ian Curtis' brooding dirges. Superficially, Paul Banks does sound somewhat similar to Curtis, but only in his compelling delivery- not his actual voice- and certainly not enough to warrant the comparison.

Released June 4, 2002. Interpol (EP) Tracklist. Interpol is the third EP release by New York post-punk revival band Interpol. Released on June 4, 2002, it was the band’s first release on the Matador Records label. Interpol (EP) Q&A. Producers Gareth Jones, Interpol & Peter Katis. Backing Vocals Daniel Kessler.

When Interpol burst onto the scene with ‘Turn on the Bright Lights’ in 2002 their music felt incredibly fresh: melancholic New York indie-punk with a look and feel that screamed libido and intellectualism in equal parts. Six albums and one key personnel departure later we have their second release in 18 months-the five track EP ‘A Fine Mess’. It’s often a ballsy, thrilling record that hits its marks, but which does not do anything new with the band’s signature sound. One challenge might be that found in that sound itself.

Interpol EP. Critic Score.
