Exclusive Prime pricing. Started with Daybreaker and worked my way backward through Central Reservation and just received Trailer Park. All three are excellent. All three are different and unique in their own way. I think that Beth's voice is clearer and less edgy on Trailer Park than her later work which is a very pleasant surprise as the lyrics - which are excellent - can be understood. In some ways this CD reminds me more of Daybreaker than CR as both span alot of musical territory from straight acoustic guitar to orchestral movements.

Beth Orton has been considered a singer-songwriter folkie for so long that it can be hard to remember that her career began quite differently. She got her start singing on William Orbit's chillout project Strange Cargo, and she lent her voice to two songs on the Chemical Brothers' Exit Planet Dust, placing her smack in the middle of British pop's volatile post-rave milieu. When her 1996 breakout album, Trailer Park, appeared, it balanced plaintive acoustic guitars and barroom piano with trip-hop beats and atmospheric electronic detailing.

Whilst listening to my Fleetwood Mac station on Pandora. com, Beth Orton came on with 'Concrete Sky' and my ears honed in on the sound. I wasn't disappointed! Don't be put off with the sound at the opening of track one 'She Cries Your Name' but be prepared to be blown away with 'I Wish I Never Saw The Sunshine.
