Mixed Up is a 1990 remix album by British rock band The Cure. The songs are remixes of some of their hits, reflecting the popularity of remixing of existing songs and dance culture of the late 1980s and early 1990s. In 2018, a sequel was released titled Torn Down. Most of the songs are extended mixes.

An assortment of remixes, re-recordings, old singles, and one new song ("Never Enough"). Most of the remixes are quite radical, leaving only the bare bones of the original song. There are enough oddities and rare tracks on Mixed Up to make it necessary for Cure fans, but it's too specialized for casual listeners.

It is incredible to think that the last album release by The Cure was 4:13 Dream from 2008. Going on 9 years ag. nd most fans agree that the 2004 and 2008 albums were disappointing. Since Disintegration and Wish, the best release was Bloodflowers, which some consider to be the last true Cure album. Around My Head (release date February 2017) opens with Lament 2017, a new version of a little-known song (SoundCloud below), rarely played live by the band, but with a cult status. The 9 other tracks go from ck (Never Say Never) to the dark climax of Return to the Light. For full information, the dedicated web site is at ww. hecure2017. A rare performance of Lament (1990). Keane 2016 New Single Tear Up This. New CD "In This Fading Light" released (07/2016). We are very happy happy to announce that our new full-length album "In This Fading.

Smith was more forthcoming when Rolling Stone caught up with him backstage, with the goth/post-punk veteran discussing his initial reservations with the awards show, the upcoming 30th anniversary of his Disintegration and a new Cure album that’s currently in the works. How does it feel to be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?

Their last album of new material was 2008’s 4:13 Dream, and with more than a decade between then and now, it can be hard to gauge what to expect from the goth-rockers. Here’s a deep-dive look at everything we know so far. What Have They Been Up To? Smith recently stated in an interview with BBC 6 Music that he’s avoided the interview circuit for some time because of his lack of inspiration to create new music. It might just be a reaction to the fact that in the modern world, people talk endlessly about nothing, he said, adding that having no album to discuss makes the whole notion of doing. Maybe a better question would be what new sounds can The Cure explore? How do they fit into today’s music landscape? It’s a question with no clear answer, although Smith has been forthcoming in terms of his inspiration for the project.

A sequel to the band's 1990 remix album, Torn Down, which is also being reissued for Record Store Da. On April 21st, the British alt rockers will deliver a pair of remix albums, one of which is entirely brand new. Torn Down (Mixed Up Extras) is a new collection of 16 remixes from frontman Robert Smith. The double-LP includes reworkings of tracks such as Three Imaginary Boys, Just One Kiss, Never Enough, The Drowning Man, Cut Here, and more.

The Cure frontman Robert Smith has revealed more details about The Cure's first album in over a decade. What can we expect from The Cure's new album? Robert Smith has revealed the album is "fucking great". The Friday I'm In Love singer also told Rolling Stone they "recorded 19 songs" but they're about 10-12 minutes long. He added that he'd pick "six or maybe eight songs" and do a single album to "delight hardcore fans". However, the rocker and new Hall Of Fame inductee revealed it would probably "infuriate everyone else," adding: "At my age, I’m still doom and gloom.

Mindful however in keeping up with the trend, The Cure decided to rework some of their old songs handpicked from their eight studio albums released between 1979 and 1989. Needless to say their fans were a tad bewildered by the result, although it did stand the test of time.
