From 1967 to 2018, Louis Armstrong’s What A Wonderful World has not lost even a bit of its momentum. The song was written by Bob Thiele and George Weiss during the ‘Vietnam War‘ with the hopes of mending some shattered lives due to the war. Since then, What A Wonderful World has healed and inspired possibly billions of lives to-date. This track appears in Louis Armstrong’s 1968 album also titled ‘What A Wonderful World. The single was a massive success with over a half a million sales in the year of release and reached spot on UK Singles Chart and in Australia as well

What a Wonderful World. Produced by Bob Thiele. Album What a Wonderful World. What a Wonderful World Lyrics. I see trees of green, red roses too I see them bloom, for me and you And I think to myself What a wonderful world. I see skies of blue and clouds of white The bright blessed days, the dark sacred nights And I think to myself What a wonderful world

When Louis Armstrong passed away in 1971, few would have named What a Wonderful World his best-loved song. Today, it is Armstrong’s most popular recording; appearing in major motion pictures, racking up millions of views on YouTube and regularly leading the jazz categories on streaming music services such as this site and Apple Music. The original What a Wonderful World was arranged by Tommy Goodman and recorded for ABC-Paramount on August 16, 1967. Larry Newton, still upset with Thiele for recording the number, sabotaged its marketing by not at promoting the record in the United States. In 1970, Armstrong returned to What a Wonderful World for the album Louis Armstrong and His Friends, remaking the song with an updated, funkier arrangement by Oliver Nelson.

Satchmo's amiable presence carries this recording through a few slow moments and has endeared the album as a pop vocal classic.
