Miles was also seen in the official video release, The Making of Electric Ladyland on Rhino Records. The video featured interviews with the majority of players who were involved in recording the legendary Hendrix album. The video includes footage of Miles playing his drum tracks in the studio against the original multi-track recordings of Hendrix. In 1999, Miles performed on the late Bruce Cameron's album, Midnight Daydream, which included other Hendrix alumni Billy Cox, Mitch Mitchell, Jack Bruce, and others. In 2000, Miles and Leach collaborated with Stevie Ray Vaugan's "Double Trouble" rhythm section, creating the Buddy Miles Blues Berries album which featured Rocky Athas of Black Oak Arkansas. This lineup also contributed a spirited version of Jimi Hendrix's "Wind Cries Mary" on the Blue Haze, Songs of Jimi Hendrix album in 2001.

The Bluesberries spent most of February tracking an album for shopping to major labels. This album is saying, ‘Look, we know how to rock, but we still know how to play a good, proper blues,' said Athas. Band photos featuring the boys trying to snatch a blueberry pie away from Miles, their vocalist, have already been taken, and tentative tour plans are in motion, depending on who picks up the recorded results. We’re taking a step at a time – I don’t have any plans to quit Black Oak, said Athas. Rocky Athas with his custom color ’62 Fender Stratocaster. Photo courtesy of Rocky Athas. Rocky Athas is the original Texas Tornado guitarist and legendary former Bluesbreaker. Johnnie and Rocky cemented a life-long bond as brothers. After Tommy's death, Rocky performed, toured, and recorded Tommy Bolin Tribute shows with Johnnie in support of the Tommy Bolin Archives foundation. Joining them for these efforts was their friend and amazing vocalist and bassist Glenn Hughes, of Deep Purple and Trapeze. In 2000, Rocky worked with Buddy Miles and Stevie Ray Vaughan's rhythm section, Double Trouble, on The Bluesberries album for Ruf Records. Rocky also recorded the classic Jimi Hendrix's "The Wind Cries Mary" for Ruf Records' album Blue Haze - Songs of Jimi Hendrix. Touring with Glenn Hughes. With Jimmie Vaughan - Wildflower Music Festival 2016.

Shannon and bandmate Chris Layton later formed supergroups such as the Arc Angels and Storyville. Shannon appeared on both of these Columbia LPs, each released 1969; Johnny Winter (self-titled), and Second Winter. At Woodstock, Johnny's brother Edgar joined them onstage. He played with Doyle Bramhall, Denny Freeman and Chris Layton in The Mighty Zor. Shannon was asked by The Rolling Stones to audition to replace Bill Wyman, but did not get the role. Other notable projects included the Arc Angels with Doyle Bramhall II and Charlie Sexton, and Storyville with Malford Milligan. He toured with Susan Tedeschi and, along with Chris Layton, toured and recorded with Kenny Wayne Shepherd.

After Tommy's death, Rocky performed, toured, and recorded Tommy Bolin Tribute shows with Johnnie in support of the Tommy Bolin Archives foundation. Throughout his career, Rocky has been asked about his friendship with Stevie Ray Vaughan, a fellow Oak Cliff native and legendary guitarist. The release of The Essential Rocky Athas - Volume I & II is hailed globally by critics as "a delectable album tailor-made for the blues enthusiast" filled with "delicious howling guitar riffs".

Drummer Chris Layton and bassist Tommy Shannon, former members of Arc Angels and the rhythm section for Stevie Ray Vaughan's band Double Trouble, formed the band with Malford Milligan after a jam session at Antone's. After releasing an album on November Records in 1994, the band won a total of nine Austin Music awards; they became stalwarts on the local music scene and toured nationally
