Colin James and the Little Big Band II earned James the 1999 Juno Award for "Best Producer". Fred Higgins (died 1960s), known as "Daddy Cleanhead", was an American singer. James teamed up with his longtime friend Colin Linden to record a predominantly acoustic album running the gamut from delta blues, to jug band and Chicago blues. The album covers songs written by some of the greatest bluesmen including Otis Redding, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters and Willie Dixon.

Colin James and his "Little" Big Band have recorded a wonderful album of music. While based on the Big Band sound of the '30s and '40s, and even though some tunes have been previously recorded by the Manhattan Transfer, George Benson, and others, the music sounds fresh and original.
