The James Gang was an American rock band formed in Cleveland, Ohio in 1966. The band went through a variety of line-up changes until they recorded their first album as a power trio consisting of Joe Walsh (guitars, lead vocals), Tom Kriss (bass) and Jim Fox (drums). Dale Peters replaced Kriss on Bass for the band's second and third albums. The band had two hit songs, "Funk and "Walk Away", which continue to be popular on classic rock and AOR stations.

about seven minutes of Little Richard at his best with the James Gang backing him u. He added, "I couldn't believe I found it and I called Little Richard and I told him and he remembered and I said 'is it okay?' He said 'it makes me want to go out in the yard and yell Lordy, Lordy!' I guess that meant 'okay!'". So it's just a classic. It's a real treasure to have found and I thought I'd just throw that on there.
This is the first James Gang album featuring lead guitarist Tommy Bolin after Domenic Troiano left the band. William Frank Szymczyk (; born February 13, 1943) is an American music producer and technical engineer best known for working with rock and blues musicians, most notably the Eagles in the 1970s. He produced many top albums and singles of the 1970s, though he retired from the music business by 1990. The James–Younger Gang was a notable 19th-century gang of American outlaws that centered around Jesse James and his brother Frank James. The gang was based in the state of Missouri, the home of most of the members. Membership fluctuated from robbery to robbery, as the outlaws' raids were usually separated by many months.
I don& know what it is about Joe Walsh, I really don& but I can& stop playing this generously filled 77-minute compilation, taken from Joe& days with The James Gang, Barnstorm, and his first two solo albums. Somehow I missed out on Joe Walsh.
The very success of the James Gang started to irritate Walsh. I can come off the stage having the worst night I ever had, he said, and if you jump around a lot and play loud you can fool the audienc. .I really get off playing loud and hard and I really get off playing soft. Walsh would leave the band after making another studio album and the obligatory live recording. The featured song on each was the hit Walk Away, a sentiment that seemed to sum up the ambivalence in Walsh’s ability to rock out and his dismay in the results it produced. Walsh was headed inexorably toward a collaboration with the Eagles, which seems inevitable in hindsight as his songs and recordings grew in sophistication. Walsh left the James Gang in December of ’71 and holed up in the Colorado Rockies to make a solo record.
