The Fiancée is the second full-length album from the band The Chariot released on April 3, 2007. It was the final release by the band to feature drummer Jake Ryan; it was also the only release until Long Live to feature guitarist Jon Terrey, and the first and only release with guitarist Dan Eaton. On The Fiancée, the first eight track titles make up a passage from a poem, of which multiple variants are found online, but it is often called "The Backward Rhyme" or "Contradiction Poem"

The Chariot was an American metalcore band from Douglasville, Georgia, that existed from 2003 to 2013. The last lineup consisted of drummer David Kennedy, vocalist and bandleader Josh Scogin, and guitarists Brandon Henderson and Stephen Harrison. The band experienced frequent lineup changes since its inception, with Scogin being the only original member. The band played an abrasive style of hardcore that does not adhere to typical stylings such as melodic/abrasive dynamics and harmonic vocals.

After listening to this album, Scogin's voice is actually not the real problem. It doesn't really change tones at all, which is a downside, but I've heard much worse. His lyrics are in the same vein of Norma Jean, underOATH, and every other Christian metalcore band, which also is another downside, but at least I can't really understand what he's saying, so I don't really mind. In sum, Scogin is an average, at best, metalcore singer. There were three things that drove me insane on this album. First, the overall cohesiveness and organization of the songs.

The Fiancée is the second full-length album from The Chariot, released on April 3, 2007. The first eight track titles make up a passage from a poem often called The Backward Rhyme or Contradiction Poem. There are many variations of the exact poem and the original author is unknown. A similar poem is A Few Lines by Groucho Marx. The Fiancée Q&A. Featuring Hayley Williams & Sacred harp singers. Producers Matt Goldman.

Tracklising: 1. Back To Back 2. They Faced Each Other 3. They Drew Their Swords 4. And Shot Each Other 5. The Deaf Policemen 6. Heard This Noise 7. Then Came To Kill 8. The Two Dead Boys 9. Forgive Me Nashville 10. The Trumpet. I have never seen The Chariot live. Before you shoot me though, just know that Austin, TX never has Christian metal bands coming through it for some reason. In fact, they tend to avoid it like the plaque, usually going to Dallas, Houston and San Antonio
