This CD only serves to remind us how great the TRAX originals are but apart from this does very little. oh and listen to the new "version" of R U Hot Enough if you want a giggle! Reply Notify me 5 Helpful. Reply Notify me 2 Helpful.

1 Hip Hop & R'n'b Album (Parental Advisory, 2005). Hed Kandi The Mix Summer 2008 Various Artists CD. Trending price.

flac 02 - Farley 'Jackmaster' Funk. 06 - Master C & J - Dub Love (Mark Broom Retouch). 07 - Ralphi Rosario feat. Xavier Gold - You Used To Hold Me (Justin Harris Respectful Redo). 09 - Jack Frost - Clap Me (KiNK Cover Version).

That's both their making and undoing. Most of what's here is very streamlined, which is odd for music that was originally so uninhibited. If the only way to accurately judge a remix is by whether or not you'd toss the original over the boat's side for it, only a couple things here come up trumps. The rest is merely solid, and sometimes stolid.

TITLE added to MP3 cart. The Original Chicago House Classics. Exclusive Prime pricing. If you're looking for a CD with only the early House classics, this isn't it. But as a budget disc, this is still worth getting as you will end up enjoying most of the songs found here & the fact that they've aged surprisingly well. 3 people found this helpful.

Chicago house refers to house music produced during the mid to late 1980s within Chicago. The term is generally used to refer to the first ever house music productions, which were by Chicago-based artists in the 1980s. Original productions. Increasing popularity and divergent styles.

Simply put, the label was responsible for changing the course of dance music for good, and with Chicago-influenced sounds bubbling to the surface once more thanks to yet another retro revival (we see you Disclosure) a re-appraisal of their catalogue feels timely to say the least. Billed as the most important retrospective analysis of Trax Records since the label began, Traxbox weighs in at an almost knee-tremblingly massive sixteen (!) full CDs, housed in a special wallet and packaged with a generous one-hundred page booklet

  • OK, so I know we are supposed to be "green" these days. Use the bus, eat less or no meat, use energy saving lightbulbs and recycle our waste. But music? Surely we dont have to keep recycling that as well? Well, sadly, it appears we do. I have listened to this online and found it quite depressing {not only because I remember the originals from pirate radio and nights out lost in the dry ice}. A prime example is the re-edit of "Face It" which strips all the moody late night soul and throws in a Reese sample {which presumably the teen/early 20s market this compilation is aimed at won't be familiar with}. I thought we had reached saturation point with all the disco and latterly cosmic re-edits {some of which I admit have been pretty good, in part because some of the originals are so hard to find}. This CD only serves to remind us how great the TRAX originals are but apart from this does very little. It also makes me think "what next, Kraftwerk re-edited or maybe Dubstep remixes of ABBA"....oh and listen to the new "version" of R U Hot Enough if you want a giggle!
