Get Ready is the RIAA Platinum-certified second studio album by American blues rock band Rare Earth. It was released on September 30, 1969 by Motown Records. John Persh – vocals, bass guitar, trombone. Pete Rivera – vocals, drums. Rod Richards – vocals, guitar. Kenny James – vocals, organ, electric piano. Gil Bridges – vocals, saxophone, tambourine.
The band decided that "Get Ready" would be Rare Earth's first recording, to be 21 minutes long and to be one whole side of the first album. Motown was leary about doing this but the band insisted because radio was starting to play album cuts which were longer than the normal 3 minute single. Get Ready" first broke in Washington . in the black market, spread across the country and eventually into the white market. It was a huge hit selling millions of records and remaining on the charts for almost 3 years. Some of Rare Earth's other hits from 1969 to 1974 were.

Pearl Jam are returning from a four-year recording hiatus this October with Lightning Bolt, their 10th studio album. Bizarrely, an actual lighting bolt caused a long rain delay at their Wrigley Field gig last week. Many critics probably thought that Pearl Jam wouldn't make it to 10 albums. Their debut album Ten sold millions upon millions of copies; it was an impossible level to reach ever again, and Eddie Vedder seemed particularly ill-suited for mega-fame. By 1996, most of their grunge peers were either dead, hobbled by drugs or parting ways with their groups. Against all odds, Pearl.
