Live and Unreleased is a compilation of live recordings of the jazz fusion band Weather Report, released on Legacy Recordings in 2002. The tracks are taken from live performances that took place from November 25, 1975 to June 3, 1983. It is their third official live recording after the Japan-only Live in Tokyo from 1972 and 8:30 from 1979, although previous albums such as Heavy Weather and Night Passage also included occasional live tracks.

A convicted debater could plausibly make the case that the Beatles aren’t the best rock band ever. What no one could reasonably argue, however, is that any other rock band has had its existence more closely dissected and analyzed. There are books - thick ones - devoted to tracking each day in the band’s brief existence, and the band’s recording archives have been almost as exhaustively picked over.

15 Legendary Unreleased Albums. Springsteen’s full-band ‘Nebraska,’ Neil Young’s ‘Homegrown’ and other shelved projects by major artists. Get Back was envisioned as a back-to-basics rock album, free from elaborate production work, recorded live in a hangar-like film studio for a corresponding Beatles documentary. The premise was interesting, but the conditions were not ideal for making music, and the camera presence proved intrusive. The torturous sessions wrapped soon after the iconic performance on the Apple Records rooftop, but no one could face digging through the 85 hours of material the band had amassed. Producer Tony Visconti assembled the tracks under the obscure black slang term The Gouster, which he defines as: "A hip guy who walks down the street snapping his fingers. It was a label that suited Bowie just fine.
