Albert King was an American blues guitarist and singer who was active from the late 1940s to 1992. During the earlier part of his career, he recorded several singles for smaller record labels. In 1966, he began an association with Stax Records, where he enjoyed his greatest commercial success with both singles and albums. Door to Door (also Otis Rush, Otis Spann, . Retrieved April 28, 2013.

Otis Rush, another steel-string southpaw, handles the remaining numbers. Not so much on guitar, Rush makes it all the way to the top of the basis of his vocalizing, which manages to be strangled and painful, precise and lovely all at once. He was overwhelmed and badly obscured by the poor s production on his recent Cotillion album. Rush recorded mostly for Cobra between 1956-1958, but he also cut several sides for Chess in 1960, six of them reissued or released for the first time on Door to Door.

Otis Rush Jr. (April 29, 1934 – September 29, 2018) was an American blues guitarist and singer-songwriter. His distinctive guitar style featured a slow-burning sound and long bent notes. With qualities similar to the styles of other 1950s artists Magic Sam and Buddy Guy, his sound became known as West Side Chicago blues and was an influence on many musicians, including Michael Bloomfield, Peter Green and Eric Clapton.

The Otis Rush set is more diverse with remakes of several of his Cobra tunes. Most memorable would have to be "All Your Love", made famous as a cover version on John Mayall's Bluesbreakers LP. I always liked his slow tune "So Close", almost as pop, do-wop blues and the remake of the Cobra tune "I'm Satisfied" with its Gospel overtones. Door To Door" is merely a collection of the few singles that King and Rush recorded during their short tenure with the Chess brothers in Chicago
